Cuky Pérez is an economist and data scientist with 20 years of experience in applied statistics and technology in Silicon Valley. She earned her Ph.D. and Master’s degree from Stanford University. After completing her Ph.D., she worked as a professor at the University of Washington in Seattle, but after three years in this position, she decided to take on a new challenge.
Pérez joined the data science team at Airbnb, the world’s largest lodging technology platform. During her six years there, she led teams in different areas and, in her last role, she directed the Platforms team, which was tasked with standardizing all business units to achieve the necessary efficiency for the IPO.
After Airbnb’s IPO, Pérez joined Shopify, a Canadian startup that offers digital services to entrepreneurs, including e-commerce and online payments. During her time at Shopify, she gained experience in the field of e-commerce. Currently, she is in Chile supporting initiatives to empower women to enter the tech sector in her country.
